  • Echoes of Light: Cecilia Young and Händel

A good natural voice and a fine shake [and] had been so well taught, that her style of singing was infinitely superior to that of any other English woman of her time.

    -Charles Burney

Experience true vocal lightness in this concert celebrating soprano Cecilia Young, the luminous muse of George Frideric Händel. Known for her grace and vocal brilliance, Cecilia inspired some of his most exquisite arias, being the interpreter of roles such as Morgana (Alcina) and Dalinda (Ariodante).

L’arte nascosta: The Italian Cantata in Vienna

This program revives forgotten 18th-century Italian cantatas composed at the imperial court of Vienna, by Italian composers. Featuring exquisite works for soprano and basso continuo, each piece has been carefully transcribed from original manuscripts by us. These intimate musical gems—once heard in private salons—now return to life, revealing the lyrical beauty and expressive power of the Italian style in its Viennese setting.
